The article shows you an easy way to put and rip kids DVD movies onto your NAS for sharing and streaming on various devices via Plex with ease.
Chances are you have files stored all over the internet - some in Dropbox, a few in
Google Drive, and so forth. NAS, with Network Attached Storage in full, is the a new option for storing and serving files. If
you have some DVD movie collection like me, you can backup your DVD videos to NAS for better playing and sharing.
Here comes my question:
I haven't attempted anything else beyond a single kids DVD that I'm having problems with. What I'm hoping is to back up my DVD to my NAS, so that I can stream my shows to various devices (either on an intel NUC media server, Playstation3, or sometimes, and iPad or windows laptop might be used for viewing) with Plex. It is also a way of preserving my bluray discs and DVDs from my pre-school children.
After many trials, I was told about Pavtube BDMagic by a colleague at work who has a very large movie collection and has ripped it all for much the same purpose - storing on
a home network and streaming to various devices. It integrates a best Blu-ray ripper and a DVD ripper together for you to rip Blu-ray discs, standard DVDs to universal video and audio file types
as you need. You can rip and convert Blu-ray/DVD to NAS with super fast conversion speed and excellent image and sound quality. What's more, with this Blu-ray ripping tool, you can easily backup
your Blu-ray, DVD disk with whole content copy or backup main movie only. Here is a review for you.
After ripping a few minutes of one movie with the demo version of Pavtube, I found it seemed to work fine and I bought it and hopefully once the xmas holidays start, I'll have some time to
experiment more. For Mac users, you can get BDMagic for Mac. Now I'm sharing my way to migrate Kids DVD movies into the all-digital future for transferring to NAS.
